If you could eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
If I could have one food for the rest of my life, it would definitely be pizza. I mean, who doesn’t love pizza?! I absolutely love pizza! You could do so many combinations, with all the different toppings, crust, and sauce—you would never get tired of pizza! You could even switch it up by crust styles—from deep dish to thin crust. You could have pineapple, pepperoni, and extra cheese all with a deep dish crust or sausage, bacon, and peppers with a thin crust. You could even switch the sauces up, from LaRosa’s sweet sauce to Papa John’s authentic Italian sauce; the taste each time is always unique. It’s like Skyline, you never get bored of it due to all the different choices! Pizza is great two ways—hot or cold and is more amazing then ever in the morning. Left over’s from the night before, yum! Pizza is just an all around great food, from parties to a family dinner; there is always a place for pizza in everyone’s heart. This means, that there is no possible way that a person could ever get sick of pizza, due to all the combinations possible! I’M IN LOVE WITH PIZZA!
I’ve lived on one food my whole life—you gotta problem with that? Then you have a problem with my poppa. Because my poppa shoots skunk every morning and hauls it home and tosses it in a boiling pot and then we fry it all nice and pretty, and pretty soon we all are eating bacon skunk for breakfast. And then daddy goes and chokes a skunk and knocks the living sense out of it and stuffs it in his satchel and then throws it on the sizzling skillet. And Momma slathers muskrat fat all over it and fries it up nice, and then we have skunk-on-a-stick. We all love it—me and my sisters Frieda Lou and Georgianna Lynn and Gertie and brothers Roofus and Freddy and little Kenny—actually we call him Pickles cuz he smells like a jar of dill pickles. And then Poppa goes out and whacks a skunk with a frying pan and then brings it home, and then me and my sisters put a pretty pink ribbon around it, and we talk to it real nice and then we gut it and eat the liver and heart raw. Some of the city folks would call that kind of food sooshi, but we just call it good vittles, especially the liver. Yep, we Westerfields done all right with skunk. We don’t put on city airs even though Freida graduated from eighth grade. And I bet Pickles will too. He’s right smart for a three year old. Already he can walk.
If I had to eat one food for the rest of my life it would probably be potatoes because not only can you make many different forms of potatoes, you can also take a nice, hot mashed potato bath. I have loved potatoes all my life. Actually just tonight I had potatoes for dinner. They were mashed potatoes and the entire time I was savoring their sweet, fresh potatoey goodness I was imaging how amazing it would be to be covered by them in a nice warm tub. The smell of potatoes also tickles my senses. When I smell potatoes I will instantly melt inside myself and my mouth will begin watering for a sweet juicy potato, freshly picked, with the dirt still gripping onto it. Potatoes also suffice for a great toy. On nice sunny spring mornings I love getting up and going over to my closet full of potatoes, grabbing one and heading to the park with my dog to play a nice game of fetch. I honestly do not know what I would do without potatoes. They are ultimately the number one food i would like to have for the rest of my life.
The one food that I would be able to tolerate eating for the rest of my life would be a nice burrito. If one stops to think about it, burritos are a good sense of nutrients because they have so many different combinations. I would be able to get several different types of meat on them then I would be able to top it off with some vegetables. I would also get carbohydrates from the rice and the tortilla, which would be able to keep me full for a long period of time. I choose burritos for that very reason, I would only have to eat one per day which would limit my calorie intake and delay the process of wanting to vomit every time a saw a burrito. The burrito was my food of choice because, on top of all of the good nutrients it offers, they taste great, disregarding the high amount of calories and fat. The only food group that would be omitted from by burrito diet would be fruits. Adjusting to the fruitless life style would be a challenge but I would eventually get used to it.
If I could only eat one food for the rest of my life it would probably be quesadillas. I love quesadillas so much and would love to eat them everyday. They are healthy and yummy at the same time. Quesadillas are multiple food groups all cooked together in a tortilla of heaven, which can also be personalized with meat and tons of different kinds of veggies, you can even add your favorite toppings. My personal favorites are sour cream and salsa but the possibilities are endless. Another great thing about eating quesadillas everyday is they are simple to make. If you have to make something everyday for the rest of your life -- which is basically eternity -- you don’t want to have to spend hours a day making it. If you really think about it no matter what food you choose its going to get boring after a while so you might as well pick something with millions of varieties, and quesadillas sure are that. I couldn’t think of anything better to eat everyday for the rest of my life.
If I could eat one food for the rest of my life, it would be steak. Sure, I probably wouldn’t last long, but who would eating one food for the rest of their life? The torture of not being able to expose the pallet to numerous flavor varieties would be unbearable. Besides, steak is extremely manly and it’s a good thing to be a man, man. Now that it’s been determined that steak is the best food to eat for the rest of one’s life, I’m going to ramble on about why. The health benefits of steak are astronomical; each steak includes a serving of fruits and vegetables, 300 percent of one’s daily vitamin C, and the rare vitamin Z that trims fat automatically. My cousin once ate three steaks in a day and then won the lottery, Coincidence? I think not. Due to the many health benefits in Steaks, as researched in China, I would choose to eat steak for the rest of my life.
The food options are endless, in a country where a person has the luxury and ability to eat Chinese, Mexican and Italian cuisine in the same week. Lets just say we, Americans like to entertain our taste buds. But what if someone told you that you had to pick one meal to eat for the rest of your life! Not only would your taste buds want to kill you, but also as dramatic as this might sound, life would just not be the same. Despite this, I believe that there is one meal that I would be willing to enternally consume —the famous Chipotle burrito. One of Chipotle’s scrumptious burritos would not only supply me with food from most of the vital food groups but its taste is crazy good. I can get my protein from the succulent grilled chicken, my vegetable intake from the sweet corn, my carbohydrates from the white rice and my dairy from the sour cream and cheese. This meal is perfect, except maybe for the burrito-resembling belly I would develop over time.
One food for the rest of my life? Psh, easiest topic you’ve ever given me.. PASTA. You can dress it up or dress it down, load it with some luscious meatballs or some delectable sauces. It would never get old—you health freaks out there would get all your food groups if you really wanted to—but heck if you are eating the same thing for the rest of your life everyone is going to get fat anyways. Who really is going to choose the “hot dog and chocolate milk combo” that thing is a hoax anyways—talk about a good old fashioned heart attack. But anyways, you could never get bored of pasta, besides the fact that there are millions of pasta recipes they also come in different shapes. From letters to wagon wheels to all those other Italian names that make pasta seem way classier than it actually is—but needless to say ALPHABET PASTA! Ugh my childhood in a nut shell, I used to use these things for school projects, Christmas cards to mom, and of course eating. Man, I love to eat.. PASTA!
Now, if a typical teenager is asked, "If you could only eat one type of food for the rest of your life, what would it be?", it is probably safe to say that they would say a junk food-- like their favorite dessert or candy bar. Lets face it, we're all young and growing, and we like things to taste GOOD. How many 18 year olds would say they would want to eat asparagus for the rest of eternity? Although asparagus really isnt that bad (especially if you steam, butter, and lighty salt it), more often than not we will choose something incredibly bad for us, something that would probably shorten our lives. Growing up, I have always been a potatoe fan-- whether they be mashed, smashed, baked, cheesy, in salad form, or in soup form. They are one of the few very versatile foods out there and if i have to be stuck with this food for the rest of my life, I better be able to be a little creative with it. As far as I know, potatoes do not cause a bad complextion, orange skin, hair loss, or hair growth (unlike other foods out there), they are just simply a hearty vegstable that is grown to last, and I would have no problem eating those bad boys for the rest of my life.
Out of all the different foods i eat, it's incredibly hard for me to just choose one. Food, to me, is the greatest thing on this entire planet. If you really knew me, you would know that I'm hungry all the time. I normally don't eat breakfast because I'm too lazy to wake up early enough to do so, which is why I'm usually starving by third period. Then when i get to lunch, I eat everything I can get my hands on as long as it doesn't look or smell funny. My biggest binge time is when I'm bored at my house, or anywhere for that matter. That's when you will see me eating most, or just complaining about being hungry. So honestly, I can't answer this question without thinking of every other food that I absolutely love. But, one food that I could easily eat every single day would have to be salad. There are so many different combinations you can create with a salad. There's Romaine lettuce, and my personal favorite, spinach. I used to absolutely hate spinach, but what little kid wants to eat spinach? You could pretty much put anything on a salad: fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, dressing, so on and so on. When I eat, I like to feel content after, not bloated; even though I usually (one hundred percent of the time) feel so full that I could throw up. But the beauty about eating salad is that I could eat as much as I want in one sitting, and not feel like falling to the floor! I could eat a salad at any time and any place...maybe even for breakfast. So although I find it hard to choose one food to eat for the rest of my life, I definitely wouldn't mind chowing on salads everyday.
